Margaret
Hardebeck, MD, MS
After graduating
from the University of Louisville College of Medicine in 1981, and
completing a 3 year residency in Family Practice, I spent the next
few years exploring a variety of practice situations. These included
spending time with the Indian Health Service on the Navajo Reservation
in New Mexico, working in an Emergency Room in Raleigh, North Carolina
and eventually relocating back home to Covington, KY where I managed
to stay put for a while, working as an Acute Care Physician at Deaconess
Hospital in Cincinnati. It was during this time that I decided to
re-explore my interest in art by taking a variety of classes (drawing,
painting, photography, graphic design and computer graphics to name
a few) at nearby Northern Kentucky University. Medical Illustration
seemed to be a logical way to combine my love of medicine and art,
and in 1997 I enrolled full time in the Medical Illustration program
at The Medical College of Georgia, receiving my Masters Degree in
1999. After finishing school, I again moved back to the Cincinnati
area where I started her own freelance Illustration Studio, Hardebeck
Medical Productions. While I am happy doing a variety of medical
art work, I particularly enjoy creating educational animations and
interactive modules for both patients and other professionals. |
